What Do You Watch in the Control Room?
On UNIK's fully automatic block production line, the control room is the "information hub" of the entire factory. Sitting in front of the touchscreen, operators do not see scattered individual machine statuses, but a complete data stream from batching to palletizing.
1. Batching Stage: Every Batch of Cement Is Traceable
The batching station and cement scale of UNIK's fully automatic production line are all connected to the central PLC control system. The system records the actual weighed value of aggregates and cement for each batch and compares it in real time with the mix design set value. When the deviation exceeds the allowable range, the system issues an alert, rather than allowing the deviation to silently enter the mixer. This means that when quality inspection finds abnormal strength in a certain batch of blocks, technicians can retrieve the batching records corresponding to that batch and directly determine whether the problem lies in the metering stage, without having to troubleshoot one by one from raw materials to curing. UNIK's complete line equipment is centrally controlled by the PLC system, ensuring precise batching, stable forming, and neat palletizing.
2. Forming and Curing: Whether Parameters Are Actually Executed as Specified
What is displayed on the control room screen is not only "how much the mix design specified," but also "how much the equipment actually executed." The vibration time, pressing pressure, and forming cycle of the forming machine; the temperature and humidity curve and duration of the curing kiln – whether these process parameters that directly affect block strength are executed according to the set values is fully recorded in the control system. For operators, the value of the control room lies not in "watching the equipment run," but in being able to promptly detect that "the equipment is not running the way it should."
3. From Individual Machines to the Complete Line: One Screen Manages the Whole Line
UNIK's fully automatic production line covers the batching station, JS forced mixer, cement scale, conveyor belt, block forming machine, automatic elevator, finger car system, curing kiln, and automatic palletizing system. All these machines do not operate independently, but are centrally coordinated by the central control system. Operators can monitor the operating status of the entire line and adjust key parameters on the 15‑inch Siemens touchscreen. This "centralized control, decentralized execution" architecture makes the control room the true "cockpit" of the entire production line – operators see the big picture, intervene at key nodes, while the timing coordination and interlock protection between machines are automatically completed by the PLC at the underlying level.
4. Only What Is Recorded Can Be Optimized
A production line running for a year generates massive amounts of process data. If this data is not recorded and organized by the system, so‑called "experience" remains at the individual level. UNIK's central control system incorporates key parameters from batching, forming, and curing into a unified data recording framework, enabling factory managers to analyze the sources of strength fluctuations and evaluate the effects of process adjustments based on real production data, rather than relying on scattered on‑site observations. What is truly worth watching in the control room is not the numbers flickering on the screen, but the data that can be traced, compared, and used for decision‑making.
