The raw materials you can use determine the ceiling of your costs.
Raw materials are the largest cost item for a brick plant. If a machine can only use pure cement and river sand, it is difficult to bring costs down. But if fly ash can replace part of the cement, and stone powder or slag can replace part of the aggregates – the situation is entirely different.
This is where the key difference between hydraulic forming and vibration forming lies. Vibration forming relies mainly on "shaking" – the material settles in the mold through vibration, which can cause layering and uneven density. Hydraulic forming relies on "pressing" – the hydraulic system applies pressure, causing the material particles to rearrange under high pressure and become uniformly compacted from top to bottom.
This means that hydraulic equipment can handle a wider variety of raw materials. Even if the raw material quality fluctuates, it can still produce blocks that meet strength requirements. Fly ash can replace part of the cement, and slag or construction waste can replace part of the aggregates – raw material costs come down directly.
UNIK's hydraulic brick machines have recipe parameters preset before shipment, based on local raw material samples sent by the customer. Once the equipment arrives on site, there is no need for repeated recipe adjustments – production can start immediately using local low‑cost raw materials.
