BLOCK MAKING MACHINE PRICE IN SRI LANKA
Products Description
In 2026, Sri Lanka's construction industry is undergoing a historic turning point – shifting comprehensively from post‑crisis recovery to expansion. CT Smith Securities points out that the government's 2026–2028 public investment plan allocates approximately 70% of capital expenditure to construction‑related sectors, amounting to around LKR 2 trillion, driven by expressways, irrigation, and housing projects. This signal directly translates into strong demand for concrete products such as blocks, paving bricks, and curbstones.
At the same time, building material costs continue to rise – cement prices have increased by about LKR 175 per bag, while sand, steel, and other core building materials have also seen significant price increases. Sand prices are expected to climb to LKR 46,000 per cubic metre in April. Driven by the Colombo Port City, urban renewal, affordable housing, and industrial parks, building material suppliers who own their own block production equipment will gain a decisive cost advantage.

Raw Material Adaptability – Using Local Low‑Cost Resources to Reduce Costs by 30%–50%
Raw material costs account for 40%–60% of the total operating costs in block production. Using local river sand, crushed stone, and industrial by‑products (such as fly ash and slag) to replace expensive raw materials is a key way to reduce production costs.

UNIK's Success Stories in Sri Lanka
UNIK has a proven track record of successful deliveries in the Sri Lankan market:
June 2025: UNIK delivered a fully automatic wave‑shaped interlocking paving block production line for a large‑scale waterfront development project in Colombo. Specifically designed for Sri Lanka's tropical climate and high‑strength concrete mix requirements, the blocks produced were used for plaza and jetty paving.
September 2025: A UNT400 cement block machine was successfully installed and commissioned at a customer site in Sri Lanka. The equipment was easy to operate, supported by comprehensive documentation, and the customer quickly achieved stable production.
January 2026: UNIK successfully started up a fully automatic block production line in Colombo, implementing the "stone powder to bricks" integrated solution – converting quarry by‑products into high‑value building materials.
For this Sri Lankan project, UNIK delivered a production line that included a 30‑station finger car curing system, enabling the target strength to be achieved within 10 hours, significantly improving production efficiency.
