(1) Molds with large part yields and stable dimensions should be made of high-performance materials. Such mold materials can also be used for low-vacuum surface hardening to increase the durability of the mold to a new level. (2) The shape of concrete interlocking paver molds are complex, the precision is high, and the manufacturing cycle is long. The processing fee of the mold far exceeds the material cost of the mold. This mold should also be made of high-performance materials. (3) High-stressed molds are made of high-performance materials and their durability can be improved by using inexpensive surface-strengthening techniques. (4) Molds with small parts yield, simple shapes, low stress, easy to manufacture molds, molds that are often reshaped, can be made of ordinary steel, cast iron or even non-metal. (5) The material selection of molds should be combined with national resources and the steel elements with rich elements in China should be selected. (6) Materials need to be selected from the viewpoint of sustainable development, and new steel numbers should be used as far as possible so that scientific research results can be transformed into productivity, and the quality of molds can be improved.
